From Friday April 5 to Friday April 19, from Peruibe to Pedra de Guaratiba. Fifteen days by the sea where we mainly took advantage of the quite heavenly setting. A fairly short article supplemented by a series of photos<\/p>\n\n

Walk along the sea<\/h4>\n\n

Friday, Saturday we follow the sea all day on a cycle path of more than 50km. We finish in Santos, a large city known to footballers. This is where Neymar played football before coming to Europe. We drive on the beach for most of the day, ending in Itanhaem. Sunday we cross Santos, for around twenty km. Twice we took ferries. Another ordinary day along the sea. <\/p>\n\n

An average of 12%<\/h4>\n\n

Monday, after walking along the sea all day, we had to climb a big climb of more than 3km at an average of 12%, although it was tough. At the top we have a magnificent view of the heavenly beach of Juquehy. <\/p>\n\n

The following three days we drive to reach S\u00e3o S\u00e9bastiao, still by the sea. We take the opportunity to visit Ilhabela, a fairly heavenly island. Here palm trees, beaches and sun, a place where life is good.<\/p>\n\n

Paraty the village with cobbled streets<\/h4>\n\n

Saturday the 13th we reach Paraty, a small seaside town where the cobblestone streets are difficult to cycle through because the surface is irregular. We eat in a creperie run by a Frenchman with Marcel and Monique, travelers we have already met during our trip. We take advantage of the setting and tranquility of the city to take a day of rest.<\/p>\n\n

Ilha Grande<\/h4>\n\n

After two fairly quiet days along the coast, we take a ferry to visit the island of Ilha Grande. A very touristy place for its beaches, its wildlife and its history. No tourist cars on this island which until 1994 housed 2 prisons for very dangerous prisoners. They have now been transformed into museums. You have to travel through the forest for more than 3 hours to visit them. <\/p>\n\n

Soon Rio de Janeiro<\/h4>\n\n

The following two days we continue our journey along the sea, a feeling of routine because the magnificent setting does not change. Friday, we stop in Pedra de Guaratiba at Patrick’s house, the owner of a posada who offers us free accommodation for the night. The city which is located by the sea is not a tourist place and everything is very calm. We are very close to Rio which you will discover in the next post. <\/p>\n\n
